Our Story

High Forest Cottages was 'born' at the end of 2014 after the birth of our twin boys in 2013. We had fallen in love with The New Forest over the previous years as we often visited to escape our busy London lives. In 2014, we decided to move out of London, giving up our successful careers, and dedicated ourselves to our new project.

 

We spent nearly three years renovating and, in some cases rebuilding, our cottages. We wanted to create spaces that are warm and inviting, comfortable, and that allow our guests to enjoy our magical little part of the world.

 

We also wanted to create an environmentally sustainable business. When we first arrived each cottage was heated by an oil fired boiler. Instead we installed a Ground Source Heat Pump to heat The Tack Room, Stable Cottage and The Hayloft. For The Barn we installed an Air Source Heat Pump. Read more about our journey in our blog.
